My sewing machine is sometimes like a penis to me.
Kinda foreign, ya know. I mean, I pretty much know how to work it and get things done on it, but I feel like my skills could certainly be tweaked in some areas. Like what exactly it THAT part for and how could I do this better. And is my machine really satisfied...
Okay I'll stop with the penile corniness.
The one thing I really would like some pointers on is stitching up appliques. Do I just use a wide zigzag with the stitch length a short as it can be without it clumping up on itself? If you do app's, I'd love to hear your method to help improve mine.

Fun Things for Fall
Pumpkins, fake cobwebs and wooden horses with only one ear.
We've been having lots of fun. Oh how I love fall. I'd be doing so much more if I wasn't getting so tired in my pregnant state but I will just try to stay in the Now and Enjoy. Although I will admit I am looking forward to someday feeling normal again.

Excited for Fall
Fall is my favorite season. It feels good to me - the weather, the air, the smells, the beauty with colored leaves and acorns on the ground. I'm ready to welcome it.
I love nature slowing down a bit - it helps me center and focus.
And cooler weather always means it's time to get your craft on!

Cucumber?
So I thought I planted a cucumber plant, but this is most definitely a damn squash growing up my bush. Actually, it looks like a gourd. A damn gourd.
Gourds are great - don't get me wrong. I was just hungry for cukes.

Spoiled Much?
Although it may appear I've gone over the edge serving my little girl's bottle on ice - it truly was for a good reason. We were both so sick last week and I wanted to make sure she had something to drink (other than off of me). The night's are long and milk is well, milk. And I didn't want it to spoil so on ice it was!
Thanks Grandma for getting her this Think Baby Sippy Bottle - free of phthalates & PVC.
Happy to report that Elaine is over her cold although Mommy is lagging behind miserably. Why does my immune system always go to shit when I'm pregnant?? No fun.

Just watched The Secret....Law of Attraction....who knew!
If you're reading this, I guess I must have attracted you here.
An amazing message with an amazing cast too. My favorite was James Ray and upon visiting his website, he also promotes an eco-friendly Green Team. Where the hell is that thumbs up smiley face guy.... They were all good with so much inspiration and words of wisdom - Thoughts become Things sticks in my head now.
You can see All the folks I thought were great here I wish I would've known they were already listed there instead of me watching the movie 2 times to get all their names. Ahh, what the hell, good things deserve being watched twice and I do need practice with remembering peoples names. And just for the record, if this mama had the time - I'd watch that puppy a third time.

"Sometimes I still whine about chores. Cleaning is boring,
repetitive, mindless, unappreciated, physically demanding, sexually
stereotyped and socially undervalued. In this state of boredom,
repetition and mindlessness however, we can't be receptive to the
divinity within us. Similarly, being called to an activity that is
demanding, stereotyping and undervalued, can be used as an
opportunity to gain humility. It can bring us face-to-face with the
mystic's paradox: We are dust and we are divine."

Just Pretend You had a Good Night's Sleep!
Today I found myself on Barbara Brabec's website after putting her great book "the crafts business answer book" down for a minute and I really dig all the fabulous and down to earth advice she has on her website!
I am guilty of being a creative insomniac. Actually when I start sleeping full nights of sleep, I worry about my spark not returning. I try to just allow my mind / body whatever sleep it needs or doesn't need!
Read Why Creative People are Sleep-Deprived--and What to Do About It along with other useful articles for crafty biz types!
Enjoy the day!

Book Binding 101 - Making my own books.
No I don't yet.... but I've been seriously entertaining the thought and have a few green ideas floating around in my head. When I save up the $$ to buy all the essentials, I expect the experience to be nothing less than this!!
So here's another video that will inspire me to make a bit of an easier book. In case I want to crawl before I walk :) My son would dig having something like this to make a story in.
Best Homemade Book Binding - Awesome video clips here
Instructables
How to recycle office paper into blank books
Make a 100 page Notebook
Envelope Book
How to bind a book
How to bind your own Hardback Book
Handbound Book
Alright. That should keep me busy for a while.

Mouth Yoga
I am trying to smile more. Really, even aside from reading it in "MOMfulness" by Denise Roy, I KNOW it needs to happen more. I catch glimpses of me in the mirror with my all too serious look that I often carry. What am I - trying to not get wrinkles?? Haha.
So I am trying to smile more about the little things - not just wait until something humorous hits me... because even then, it's more likely to be a smirky grin than a real smile.
I'm definitely a smirker (and in my genetics, a Smurker) with a dominance for my face to have the smirk more or only on the left side of my face.... are there any face readers here? I'm sure that means something like if your mouth has left side tendencies, you are most likely to be a self centered bitch who has incredible passions for recycling, dark chocolate and India food.
It sounds believeable.

Cheap Ass Valentine
Should be noted for all you poor fuckers out there, that back rubs, compliments and sweet kisses are free and are graciously received on Valentines and every other common day.
For crying out loud - Spread the love!!
