Happy Holidays! Holy Smoke. It's been a long time since I posted... that's a good sign that it's been crazy busy around here! I need to re-install the google toolbar with its handy Blogger Button ~ that helps keep up with the postings...

Still doing the website thing. My to-do list is no longer a list but rather a notebook. Started marketing my handmade envelopes ~ Recyclopes. Still loving that Mama gig ~ Ayden is so beautiful! and bad! (too much fun!)

ummm updates on me ~

the ebay purse didn't sell but i didn't think it would but now i'm ready to put the ol' Recyclopes up.

Yesterday, I was on the Channel 10 News for the DuBois Freecycling Network I started. Wow, I had no idea I was such a dork until I saw myself on the telly.

And fuck the media. How'a bout I talked on camera for at least 7 minutes and said MANY INTELLIGENT comments, facts figures and do you know what they did?

They blurped me saying the stupidest shit. Do they like making environmentalists look flighty & "out there"? well, if so, lol ~ they did a good job. I'm going to order a copy from the station so I can have a good laugh at my silly ass again.

The Freecycle Group did get 14 new members from the airing so whooppeee!

eBay item 6703442523 %28Ends Aug-31-04 06%3A33%3A15 PDT%29 - Small Buddist Purse from Bali Hey take a peek ~ my first Ebay post ever!

Yes i've been running from ebay forever - cursing them out that their company's made enough money and that they suck. but my personal boycott hasn't shut them down so if you can beat them, ebay with them.

So look at the Purse Listing that I'm "testing out" Ebay!!

Peta Tv is brutal...and so are we.

watch the videos above and feel shitty like i do...

i am feeling guilty for the turkey sub i had yesterday.

not to be an ass, but i'm quitting meat cold turkey.

lol wow, i'm a funny girl.

i didn't even watch all the videos- i couldn't - and i'll never have to watch them again but i'll remember them forever...

duane didn't eat any meat today either. he wants to see some on cows so he can be mentally sickend for resistance from the Big Mac. the pigs break my heart.

so here are some meat alternatives if you're changing teams - check out the freezer section at the grocery store and at the health food store - they make meatless "chic" patties, "grillers", nuggets, sausage, corn dogs, hot dogs, portabella burgers, veggie burgers, Boca Pizzas & burgers - and most of them taste pretty damn good.

My favorite is Boca Spicey Chic Patties - it's good with ketchup or ranch

rice & beans are my dish of choice - together them make a complete protein

at the grocery store them might have ready made indian bean dishes...

a good bean dish is to make a big pot of tomato based thick "stew" of chopped carrots, some green peppers, a few potatoes and a can of kidney beans - be sure to add some salt & pepper - simmer that til veggies are cooked and put over rice.

I remember once when my vegetarian mother cooked Bacon especially for me cuz I wanted it and my vegetarian little sister FReaKed the fuck out and I was a teenage asshole and was oinking when i ate it.....later that night, Betsy drew me a picture of a sad pig and wrote "you killed me"

I still have it somewhere....

My Recycling Addiction

As I'm staring at my counter top full of 25+ rinsed, de-labeled white #2 plastic milk jugs....

It occurs to me that maybe, just maybe, I have a recycling addiction. So I counter~act my thought process with a "but how could I let them just throw them away???" And of course, I reply to myself with an " [sigh] I know...."

So yeah. I lugged home all those "expired" milk jugs from Care Stop so I can drag them to the recycling bin because I can't stand for shit to just be thrown away ~ it's ridiculous.....or am I??

Wow ~ I have been cutting all night ~ go little hands ~ GO hey we all need to be our own personal cheerleaders at times!

Tomorrow's agenda NEEDS to include a sending out a Natural Me Fun Note newsletter, finish gathering the Pro-Breastfeeding propaganda for the WIC open house next week and eating coleslaw.

And a morning walk to the park & carrot juicing & cleaning...

Man ~ the day of rest is going to be busy ~ I'm hitting the sack!

Straub ~ take me away....or at least my headache.

wow. This no sugar, no salt, no preservatives added beer is tasting wonderful. I really need it after my long 4 hr shift. Hey - with a 2 year old ~ it's the equivalant of a 10 hr shift!

Tonite when I was vacuuming (a half of beer and I can't tell if that's spelled right?) I was very appreciative that I had put dried herbs and essential oil of ylang ylang in the sweeper bag ~ It makes for a pleasant chore as the aromatics are expressed along with all the dirty dust mites.

Have a good nite!

BlogHop

So Blog Hop said it so gracefully on their site....

"Swearing is the crutch of inarticulate mother fuckers."

Now that is sweet.
I'm officially a WAHAWAWM!! I'm a Work At Home And Work At Work Mom!!

Care Stop is going good - WE NEED MORE CUSTOMERS - so I can still have a job! lol Ayden's been getting more comfortable there and able to throw more 2yr old fits!!

The b-day party & reunion were totally exhausting ... and fun. The kids loved the pinata & blue's clues favor boxes.

So I took Monday nite off to go to the Raw Milk Class & they cancelled it - reschedualed for next week combo'd with a vegetarian class - but I don't think I'm going to make it. Arrrrgggghhh.

Okay, I"ll quit bitching and get back to work....

Saturday, July 31, 2004

Happy Birthday to my little guy ..... He's 2 !! This Sunday we will be celebrating as naturally as we can with a small birthday party! The birthday cake will be made from scratch and no artificial colors or flavors! The Pinata will be filled with toys and "real" candy and these fun crafty pom pom balls that are going to fly everywhere! It will be fun!

Blue's Clues dominates the favor boxes ~ a bouncy ball, a cup, stickers, along with some Cracker jacks and chocolate covered raisens - all natural.

What we do for our kids - of course - my kid is the only one there with the mama who gives a crap but maybe we can help educate!

Cherico Reunion this weekend too! Thank god I took Monday off - I'll need it to re-coop and go to a class on Raw Milk....

Recyclopes ~ Environmentally Inspired Art Envelopes

oohhhh ~ check out MY RECYCLOPES

finally ~ i'm done with this recyclope site - it hasn't been announced yet - so feel special for the sneak peek!!

once again, if you didn't catch the link 2 inches above this one ~ Recyclopes ~ Environmentally Inspired Art Envelopes
WOW ~ I"M SO FREAKIN BUSY My poor deglected blog....soon it will end up just like my disappearing journal - you know a real tangible one like they used in the old days?

Last week, I literally walked into a PT job that is totally cool. Of course I have Natural Me, but I've always said I'd love a job that I could take Ayden to...well now I have one at WIC Care Stop! Another perk is I have a beautiful Natural Me Breastfeeding & Pregnancy table displayed there too. Hey you know how much I love plugging my site!

I'm going to be doing a web page for them under my server and have loads of other ideas to help bring in more business for Care Stop....um and Natural Me! We definetly need it....arrrggghhh.

Karma Kards are booming!! of course I don't make squat from that -
actually I'm 200 bucks in the hole from the shipping, hemp and printing costs - I put the donation button up and a few 'Sponsers' have donated a total of 30 buckeroos! so i'm really only 170 in the hole now ~ hahaha. i'm tired so I've mistaken my ramblings for humorous.

I'm also starting a local DuBois karma kard string - i need to recruite this week and dig up the cool folks - i know they're out there....

planting....mint, spearmint, lamb's ear, aloe vera

and drying lavender, mint, basil, anise and lemon balm

Lots of Dirt Time today!!

Friday, July 02, 2004

My work day begins at 2 am... sad isn't it? The only time to get concentration time is when I should be sleeping. Whatever works!

This week I mailed out over 560 Karma Kards!!

Check out these babies!

So the postage kicked my ass & am hoping some of the karma kard participants
help and donate to the shipping fund. I'm talking even a dollar! I really want to keep it
free - but I'd also like to keep it free for me too ~ :o)

Oh well, I'll keep doing it to matter what. It's doing a lot of good for a lot of people.

On another note - I got 14 more of my neighbors to stop spraying their apartments with
pesticides!!! Yeah ~ that's less chemicals in our neighborhood! It's great to see the
"Chemical Free Family" signs on all the doors! I'll have to scan one to put up here.
My mama's so proud of me for my environmental ways :o)

I also finished the DuBois Down To Earth Garden Club's website at

Check it out here!!!

And now i'm going to add a few more finishing touches to the upcoming
Natural Me Recyclopes section!!

BE WARNED!!!!

I hate when people forward those hoax warnings as much as anyone, but
this one is important!

Send this warning to everyone on your e-mail list!

If someone comes to your front door saying they are conducting a survey
on deer ticks and asks you to take your clothes off, do not do it! IT IS
A SCAM; they only want to see you naked!!!!

I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid and cheap now....

Monday, June 14, 2004

Holy Sunburn Batman!!

wow - i am so disguested with
how badly fried my back is from
hanging out at the DuBois Community days!

But i just had to pass out those Karma Kards!

So now I am lathering on the Aloe Vera and Lavender and sporting tube tops which Ayden LOVES
since it makes Ninny an Open Bar!

Essential oils for my face.... Lately I've been using 5% Rose oil in coconut oil plus a drop of Carrot seed oil to help repair my face and it's dry skin and BLAH complexion....Looking better already.

Tuesday, February 24, 2004

Just enjoying a moment to myself while my face cracks with delight as my green herbal clay mask dries and hopefully is creating a miracle for my skin.

Friday, February 20, 2004

I have decided to start a 2ond blog just for Natural Me .... not me but allnaturalme.com that has healthy factoids, recipes and hints for natural living. I try to squeeezzzzee in some here (in between my rantings) but it's just not enough....

Visit the Natural Me Notepad!!

Offline and Off-balanced....I've been deglecting the online world for quite some time. I've been playing Dr. Mom ~ what an unusual un-healthy streak I've been on - STRESS & ME do not mix well. So my little guy has been under the weather too - like a nasty cold/cough deal - and I finally decide to take him to the doctors to see what the damn hold up on feeling better. Here Ayden has horrible ear infections in both ears!! I thought when kids had ear infections they pulled at their ears, screamed and it was just aweful. My tough lil' guy didn't do anything like that - he's just wanted held a lot and at night time was "wimpering" - geez....I should've known.
Treatment Agenda for Ayden's Ear Infections & Congestion:
* 1st line of antibiotics - the pink stuff - for 10 days
* Similiason Homeopathic Ear drops
* Garlic oil in ears and rubbed on feet
* Cool mist humidifier with essential oils of Thyme, Tea Tree, Lavender & Wintergreen at night
* Generic "Vix" Chest Rub with added essential oils of Thyme, Myrrh and Sandalwood
* Daily intake of acidoliphis (powdered from pharmacy) in plain yogurt with pumpkin pie spice :o)
* Lots of love and letting him get into EVERYTHING because I'm so glad he's feeling better and also feeling guilty for not taking him to the doc's sooner

When it rains, it pours .... and I'm having a STRESS STORM ....the weather here in Sadieville is sick - sick - and still sick!! I cannot believe that I'm still not feeling well. Stress is very damaging to the immune system! I've been telling this to people forever -and now, I'm seeing it in my own life. I need to pump up the healing foods & vitamins like Garlic, Fresh veggie juice and some more B-Complex in addition to my multi-vite. The funny thing is I never feel "stress-out" or frazzled - but obviously my body is feeling the effects. What do you do to de-stress?

Friday, January 30, 2004

The breastfeeding "keg stand".....it's really great to breastfeed your little one past a year. You know the added health benefits and all that's cool but it's totally entertaining as well! Ayden has a new thing I like to call the "ninny stand". I hope I don't have to worry that this means he's going to be a frat boy and be the king of keg stands but he seems to enjoy trying to drink upside down. I'm so thankful that he still nurses & we co-sleep. on these DRY DRy dry winter nights, mama's milk helps keep the nasty cough at bay.

Wednesday, January 28, 2004

Breathe...try not to cough....Breathe...try not to cough.... wow, do I hate being sick. For starters, a "mama" isn't allowed to rest and then, when I'm sick I go mentally blank and forget to remedy myself. So the sickness & the self-neglect & nobody leaving me alone .... is a miserable combination!
With a cough & sore throat, Hot HERBAL TEAS, warm salt water rinses, hot garlic soup & steamy baths with essential oils of ginger, tea tree, thyme & wintergreen are a mama's best friend!

Tuesday, January 27, 2004

Blogging Infidelity... Sorry Blogger, I messed around with Live Journal a bit today. I am so ashamed. It was nothing, I swear! It'll never happen again - You're the one for me.....

Saturday, January 24, 2004

T.V. SUCKS ~ ~ Ok, I am so sick of the news and tv shows like 20/20 and 60 minutes portraying environmentalists like crazy loons! This one show tonite was using 1982 video shots of protestors screaming silly things like "We are breathing our last breaths of oxygen!!" to represent people who were against DDT and the Trash Epidemic .... ok then 20/20 ~ let's help support stereotypical behavior some more....shall we? Yes, all us crazy ass tree huggers who care about the environment are running around with our faces painted warning people at the top of our lungs to enjoy the last of the oxygen. yep. that's us. oh and that obnoxious reporter that jumped into the NY Hudson river to show how safe it was - I guarantee he went home and took a very long hot shower with tons of soap.
~ ~ Sleep tight everyone ~ the T.V. assures us ... EVERYTHING IS FINE.

BLUE VINYL ~ Have you seen this documentary on vinyl production yet? wow - people need to see this! Thinking about putting vinyl siding on your house - you won't believe the negative impact your pretty little house is having on the environment, polyvinylchloride plant workers and the ground water! Take a look at: Blue vinyl . org
BE RESPONSIBLE!!

Sweet Carrot Juice memories... What a precious day I've had with my little one. I never want to forget how it's like to kneel down and really SEE Ayden. Be in that moment....

There are two loves inside you ....

One has been with you since the beginning of you. Call it your soul, your heart, your home .... it's the YOU that is always there to catch you from "life".
Close your eyes mama and breathe .... You are not alone.

Feel the precious life growing within you. Your baby has love for you already .... soon you will meet. And in an instant that lasts forever....no one else will matter except for the miracle you hold in your arms.
Your family is born.

WOW!! I didn't log on ALL day! and it's after midnight so this doesn't count! I love it when you clean all day and it actually looks like it. I did some rearranging - trying to make my shoebox seem bigger.

My sweetie is hackin' his chest out downstairs so I just whipped him up some Aromatherapy Chest Lube of Thyme, Eucalyptus & Ginger in some goey stuff and I hope that shuts him up.

Update on my babe Ayden ~ his eyes are looking great but then today he was pulling on his ear and screaming so Mama had to whip out the homeopathic remedies, vitamin C, and homemade garlic oil which I put in his ear and rubbed on his feet. He wouldn't go for the warm cloth to his ear or the heating pad so my bare chest worked well and I held him all afternoon til he feel asleep for a long nap. And then he was ok. I am a miracle worker! I just hope the miracle is still kicking tomorrow.
I have a new friend!!!yyyyeeeeahhh. I think that puts me up to ...... 4 ? ok, so I haven't officially met her yet in person, but do you really have to physically meet a person in order to call them a friend? I hope not because then that brings my friend count WAY down!
So it turns out my new mama friend, Beth, and I have a lot in common. We both graduated from the same school, and both are into attachment parenting ~ co-sleeping, extended breastfeeding, no vaccinations. The no vax is a rarity here in western PA so it's real cool to find a mama who thinks for herself and isn't just brain washed by the highly advertised business of vaccination.

It'll be great to have a local mama! but right now, I'd like to give a "shout out" to my long distance mamas ~ Liz from NC - love you girl & give Skylar a kiss for me and the mama who gets ALL the daily Sadie updates whether she wants them or not ~ Lacey from OK - girl you rock! "I will call him squishy, and he will be mine."

I will only give future "shout outs" by request so if you feel you need a "shout out" from me ... give me a shout and I will shout you out.

Natural mama went to the un-natural doctor....yes, I felt like I had to. I was reading about conjuctivitis online and how it could spread to the surrounding tissues with a worse infection and I got a little scared when Ayden eye started to get puffy so we went to the doctors... (lucked out and got a nice lady instead of Dr. Jerk) (but she still was a bit neurotic about insisting on a tetnas vaccine) (not for the eye but for future living). We got some drops even though she wanted to give him an oral antibiotic too ?? I said we'd start with the drops because I know he would (and has) respond well to them.

Ayden's 17 months old and never had an oral antibiotic yet! He is also still breastfeeding! He is such a rebel. GO AYDEN!! Mama loves you!!

Monday, January 12, 2004

goo-ie eye....my little guy's eye is looking a bit irritated tonite and he had 2 eye boogies so I hope he isn't getting conjuctivitis or an infection. I will be ready with the warm compresses of either fennel, chamomile, eyebright or goldenseal
Besides giving him Vitamin C, I will take a few mega doses myself so my mama milk can be loaded with it too.
I'll try my best to remedy that kid naturally so we don't have to make a trip to our jerk doctor - I really need to find a new one but in western PA, they are all about the same (totally un-educated on anything but pharm-meds) and god forbid someone would prefer using something natural from the earth that is compatible and designed for this natural earthy body we have.

Sunday, January 11, 2004

ohh hey there....oops. I forgot I had a blog ~ I suppose I should post a little something in case I have any blog visitors....I am busy redo--ing my allnaturalme.com homepage...trying to make it more user friendly. I would love to find a herbalist or natural minded person who wanted to write articles. It's hard to do all the things I'd like to with a little one hanging off your boob ALL day.

Ok, I'm going to get productive....

I feel too young to be sending a sympathy card to a peer... An old school buddy of mine died this week in a car crash - he wasn't wearing his seatbelt - damn it Eric. This wasn't a friend I kept in touch with but it is still very sad to know I'll never run into him again. "Z" and I shared a semester of astronomy that was so boring! We had the driest monotone speaking professor and in combination with the reclining planetarium chairs, it was almost a guarantee that we'd fall asleep in class - just to laugh about it as we stumbled out of class. If it wasn't for him, I would have definitely dropped that course. Thanks Z.

Wednesday, January 07, 2004

Hold on to your childhood memories...I'm not talking about what your favorite toy was or how your grammie got you socks & underwear for christmas every year - but it's great when you can remember a specific moment exactly like you experienced it the first time *sight*smell*feelings* and seeing it the way your young eyes did.

I remember running around the house in the summer and seeing the green grass move so fast below my bare feet making grayish silver motion streaks in between the blades of green.

In my bed, I also remember how fun it was to get under the covers that seemed to have some electrical reaction with my PJ's and watch the sparky light show that was generated from me rubbing my pj's on the blanket or just moving my legs * i was an olympic static electricity swim champ * zzzzzzaaaaapp.
*thanks maystar* for giving 'don't hate me' a sweet little face lift with your graciously free template
*girl you rock*

Staying up way too late & attempting to design -n- re-create web pages has a weird effect on dreams. Last night, it was a Swahelee version of the Matrix meets the Cosbey show. The night before, my whole dream thought process was written in HTML code and everyone had to write and speak in code......Have trouble remembering your dreams? Try supplementing with vitamin B6 to help with dream recall.
i am thinking i should've made "blogging daily" my news years resolution.
